The charter for Anchorage Hillside Rotary
Club was signed by the RI president on
November 6, 1984. The celebration meeting was held on November 17,
1984 at the Upper One Restaurant. For you cheechakos, the
Upper One was located at Anchorage International Airport and was one of the
nicer places to dine in Anchorage. Click the
Charter Night Link to view the first nights
program.
The Club has had three meeting places during
its' existence. The first meeting place was Denny's
Restaurant on Dimond, the second meeting place was O'Malley's On
The Green restaurant located at the Anchorage Golf Course and our current meeting
place is the Peppermill Restaurant.
Our biggest fund raiser is the Moose Marble Madness (MMM)
raffle. Started in 1989, this raffle has annually provided
$13,500.00 in donations to the American Diabetes Association
($6,500.00 annually) and other local
charities.

Paul Harris
Fellows
The Paul Harris Fellow program is named in honor of Rotary
Founder Paul Harris. Currently, 70% of all Rotary Foundation
annual contributions are derived from Paul Harris Fellow
contributions.
Anyone who contributes, or in whose name is contributed, a gift
of $1000 or more will become a Paul Harris Fellow. Over 45
Anchorage Hillside members and spouses have become Paul Harris
Fellows contributing in excess of $90,000.
